Split a PDF, or pull out just the pages you need
🔒 Your files never leave your device
Type the pages you want to keep. Get them as one PDF, or as a separate file for each range.
or drop it here
For example 1-3, 5, 8-10. You can also use 8- for "to the end", -3 for "from the start", or all.
How to write the page ranges
Page numbers are what you see in the document, starting at 1. You can combine ranges and single pages in one line:
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
1-3 | Pages 1, 2 and 3 — both ends included |
1-3, 5, 8-10 | Pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10 |
8- | Page 8 through to the last page |
-3 | The first page through to page 3 |
all | Every page |
Duplicates are removed and everything is sorted, so 5, 1-2, 5 is the same as1-2, 5. A reversed range like 4-2 is read as 2-4rather than rejected. The line under the input always tells you exactly what will come out before you commit.
One file or several
One PDF with the selected pages puts everything you picked into a single document, in page order. This is what you want when you are removing pages rather than splitting.
A separate file per contiguous range looks at where the gaps are.1-3, 7-9 gives you two files; 1, 3, 5 gives you three, because none of those pages touch. This is the one to use when a scanner has put several documents into one PDF and you want them apart again.
When splitting into several files, your browser may ask permission to download multiple files at once — that is a browser prompt, not the tool.
Password-protected PDFs
If the PDF is encrypted, the tool detects it and asks for the password before showing the page count. Enter it and everything works normally. The password stays in the page and is never transmitted anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go — the whole operation happens in your browser.
What is preserved
Page content comes across exactly: text stays selectable, vector graphics stay vector, embedded fonts come with the pages, and nothing is re-rendered into an image. Page size and rotation are preserved too.
Bookmarks and form fields are the exception — they are attached to the document as a whole rather than to individual pages, so they do not survive extraction. If your PDF is a fillable form you need to keep working, this is not the right tool for it.
Questions
Is there a file size limit?
Only your device's memory. A few hundred megabytes is fine on a laptop; a very large scanned PDF may struggle on an older phone.
Does the original file change?
No. The file on your disk is read, never written to. You always get a new download.
